Max Görcke

Max Hermann Felix Otto Görcke (* May 7, 1864 in Landsberg ; † March 12, 1946 in Kirchmöser ) was a teacher and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

From 1870 to 1883 Görcke attended pre-school and high school in Landsberg a. W. and until 1889 the universities of Freiburg i. B. , Greifswald , Halle a. S . to study mathematics, physics and geography. In 1889/90 he completed his probationary year at the König-Wilhelm-Gymnasium in Stettin . In 1890/91 he was a scientific assistant teacher at the Marienstiftsgymnasium Stettin, from 1891 scientific assistant teacher at the grammar school in Dortmund , since 1892 a regular teacher there and since 1902 as a senior teacher at the grammar school in Brandenburg.

1883-84 he was a one-year volunteer in the Pomeranian Jäger Battalion No. 2 (Greifswald and Culm a. W.) and later captain of the Landwehrjäger I. He gave numerous lectures of scientific content and multiple speeches in national bodies and associations and headed three Years of popular entertainment evenings in Dortmund.

From 1907 to 1912 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Potsdam 8 ( Brandenburg an der Havel , Westhavelland ) and the National Liberal Party .

From 1910 he was on a Reich mission in East Asia and from 1914 to 1916 in French captivity. In 1917 he was released back to Germany and then worked again as a senior teacher in Brandenburg. In 1923 he was a co-founder and board member of the United Patriotic Associations, and in 1927 he retired as a teacher.
