(9781) Jubjubbird is an asteroid located in the main belt . It was discovered on October 31, 1994 by the Japanese astronomers Yoshisada Shimizu and Takeshi Urata at the Nachi Katsuura Observatory ( IAU code 905) in Wakayama Prefecture .
The asteroid is named after the bird Jubjub , a mysterious but obviously dangerous creature from the poem Jabberwocky , which comes from the story Alice behind the mirrors by British writer Lewis Carroll .
