Max Grodénchik (born November 12, 1952 in Queens , New York , United States ) is an American actor .

Life

After completing his training as an actor, Grodénchik initially only appeared in small film and series roles. Among other things, he had secondary parts in the films Barton Fink , Apollo 13 and Rocketeer .

With the by the series Star Trek: The Next Generation incipient science fiction boom got Grodénchik then fixed roles in series that in Star Trek played universe. In Starship Enterprise: The Next Century , his small size was useful and he was given the role of Ferengi in individual episodes . This was then decisive for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine , where he got a permanent role. He was supposed to play a Ferengi again , lost the role of the bartender Quark to his colleague Armin Shimerman and got that from his brother Rom , whom he played for seven years. In the meantime he also worked in one of the movies. In Star Trek: The Insurrection , he embodied a trill in the ship's library.

After the series ended, Grodénchik was again mainly seen in episodes of various TV series. Due to his connection to the Deep Space Nine series , he also appeared regularly as a guest at various national and international Star Trek conventions in the following years .

He speaks fluent German and French .

Max Grodénchik lives in Nußbach , in the political district of Kirchdorf an der Krems .
