Max Mabillard

Max Mabillard (born May 18, 1945 in Grimisuat ; † February 2001 in Sigean ) was a Swiss investigative and business journalist .

Life

Origin and education

He was born as the son of Gérard Mabillard (1922–1989), who also worked as a journalist and was a member of the Valais press association. After being in the Lycée-collège de la Planta Sion his graduation had taken off, he studied at the University of Lausanne Law .

Working life

Mabillard began his journalistic career at the Tribune de Genève , where he was promoted to head of the economic department. In the mid-1970s, he and his young colleague Roger de Weck researched hidden cash flows and speculative losses in the Chiasso branch of the Schweizerische Kreditanstalt and uncovered a comprehensive financial scandal. The two journalists then published their results in a book.

In the early 1980s, Mabillard moved to L'Hebdo - also as head of the economic department . He has also written for Valais Demain , Etat du monde , Panorama and Le Matin . In 1989 he founded the French-language branch of Bilanz with the monthly Edipresse business magazine Bilan . He headed the magazine as editor-in-chief for ten years. In October 2000 Mabillard was one of the founders of the francophone monthly futur (e) s published by the publishing house Agefi , which dealt with the new economy and high-tech . After only one year, however, the magazine was already discontinued.

Shortly after his engagement for futur (e) s , Mabillard retired in October 2000 in southwest France. He died in Sigean in February 2001 after a brief illness .
