Max Menger

Max Menger von Wolfensgrün (born September 10, 1838 in Neusandez , † August 30, 1911 in Mondsee ) was an Austrian lawyer and politician.

Life

Max Menger was born in Galicia . His younger brothers were Anton Menger and Carl Menger . He studied law and political science at the University of Vienna and received his doctorate in 1864. In his doctoral thesis he represented the thesis of organized self-help through small businesses , which had been developed by Hermann Schulze-Delitzsch . In 1871 he moved to Vienna , where he worked as a lawyer .

politics

As a result of the theses in his doctoral thesis that were friendly to the cooperative system , he was sent in 1869 by the Troppauer Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a member of the Silesian state parliament . In 1871 and 1872 he represented the rural community district of Eger-Karlsbad in the Reichsrat , and from 1874 the Silesian district of Jägerndorf-Freudenthal-Freiwaldau. Max Menger was then from 1897 to 1907 member of the Austrian Council for Moravian-Ostrava. Menger joined the MPs of the Progress Club and the United German Left in the Reichsrat. He was also a member of the Vienna City Council from 1882 to 1885 .
