Max Mikorey (born September 15, 1850 in Weihmichl , Kingdom of Bavaria , † December 1, 1907 in Dessau , German Empire ) was a German opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

Mikorey was the son of an economist. After he returned home from the Franco-Prussian War , he took singing lessons from Heinrich Vogl for a short time and then devoted himself to the stage career. He began at the Stadttheater in Zurich, then came to the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich, and in 1878 to the court theater there. In the beginning he was used in insignificant tasks and immediately ventured into the field of the hero tenor as Raoul . In 1882 he also got a small role in the premiere of Parsifal - as a squire. He appeared in every role with great freedom, developed stamina and lightness of the voice, a musically clear and energetic tone and excellent accentuation. The softness and shine of the organ, the fresh, lyrical, beautiful voice, as well as the expressive, fiery, animated lecture all contributed to the fact that the artist soon moved into the front rows, and one sees in him, who is to be absolved of all stereotypes, who are none Fatigue knows the real, right hero tenor. The artist, awarded the title of chamber singer for his outstanding services, is one of his most recognized achievements: Arnold , Lyonel , Stradella , Erik , Hüon , Walther von Stolzing , Tannhäuser , Don José , Manrico etc. In 1888 he sang Arindal in posthumous World premiere of Wagner's early work Die Feen . He died in 1907.

family

Mikorey's children were the composer Franz Mikorey and the pianist and composer Carola Lorey-Mikorey (born November 6, 1884 in Munich; † unknown). His grandchildren, the sculptor Franz Mikorey and the psychiatrist Max Mikorey, come from the son .
