Max Römer (politician)

Max Römer (born June 28, 1836 in Stuttgart , † August 18, 1881 at Moosburg Castle in Thurgau ) was a German lawyer and member of the Reichstag.

Life

Max Römer was a son of the Württemberg State Councilor Friedrich von Römer . He studied law from 1854 to 1858 at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and the University of Leipzig . In 1855 he became active in the Corps Suevia Tübingen and the Corps Misnia Leipzig . In 1859 he became a lieutenant in the infantry regiment "Kaiser Wilhelm, King of Prussia" (2nd Württembergisches) No. 120 . He was an attaché at the Royal Württemberg embassy in Paris in 1860/61 . From 1862 he worked at the Royal City Court in Stuttgart and since 1866 a lawyer.

From 1878 until his death he represented the constituency of Württemberg 10 ( Oberamt Gmünd , Oberamt Göppingen , Oberamt Welzheim , Oberamt Schorndorf ) in the Reichstag (German Empire ). He was a member of the National Liberal Party , which appeared as the German Party (Württemberg) . Until 1881 Max Römer was also the chairman of the German party for a time. In 1881 he resigned from the Reichstag parliamentary group of the National Liberal Party and joined the Liberal Group. He was only 45 years old.
