Max Savelle

Max Hicks Savelle (born January 8, 1896 in Mobile (Alabama) , † September 12, 1979 in Seattle ) was an American historian specializing in American colonial and diplomatic history.

Savelle graduated from Columbia University with a bachelor's degree in 1925, a master's degree in 1926 and a doctorate in 1932. He was then an instructor for history before he went to Stanford University in 1932 . In 1947 he became a professor at the University of Washington in Seattle.
