Kindler's cultural history

Kindler's cultural history is abroad-based cultural history composed of works by internationally renowned researchers, published by Kindler Verlag between 1961 and 1973 in 38 volumes, which extends from the cultures of Mesopotamia into the 20th century. Many internationally proven standard works have been recorded andtranslated into German especially for this series. The publisher was Egidius Schmalzriedt .

There was also a series of Kindler's Kulturgeschichte des Abendlandes in 22 volumes, published from 1974 to 1980 and edited by Friedrich Heer (Reprint dtv 1983). It contained some of the volumes from the first row, but also three new and revised ones:
