Emil Nack

Emil Nack (born July 3, 1892 in Prague ; † May 25, 1976 ) was an Austrian non-fiction author for historical topics, especially for young people.

Life

Nack, the son of Kaaden (now Kadaň ) of Sudeten German parents, went to high school in Vienna and completed a degree in German and Classical Studies at Vienna University , which he completed with a doctorate . Then he was a high school teacher and professor at the Academy for Music and Performing Arts .

He wrote books on classical antiquity, Egypt, mythology and the Germanic peoples. He also wrote monographs on Eduard Mörike (1925), Justinus Kerner (1926), Reuter and Rosegger (1931) and edited the work of Bruno Ertler . He was awarded the German Youth Book Prize for his youth books. His youth books have also been translated into Spanish.

Nack was buried on June 3, 1976 in the Hietzinger Friedhof .
