Max Stiegl (civil Željko Rašković , born April 13, 1980 in Koper , SR Slovenia , SFR Yugoslavia (today's Slovenia )) is an Austrian cook and restaurateur .

Stiegl was born in 1980 in Koper , SR Slovenia , SFR Yugoslavia , came to Austria at the age of six and completed an apprenticeship as a cook at the Abfalter Inn in Salzburg . His employment as a chef at the Inamera restaurant in Rust earned him his first Michelin star at the age of 21 , and he was the youngest chef in the world to win this award for a restaurant because of his achievements. In the tenth year of operation of his restaurant Gut Purbach in Purbach am Neusiedler See , Gault Millau awarded him the third chef's hat.

In 2018 Stiegl was seen in the cooking show Knife Fight Club of the German private broadcaster VOX as a duelist for Maria Groß . In 2019 he was seen, also on VOX, as rival Tim Mälzers in the fourth season Kitchen Impossible , after he had already performed as the original cook of one of the exams given to The Duc Ngo in the third season the year before . At the end of 2019 he was in a duel for the first season of the cooking show Ready to beef! to see another show at VOX with Mälzer's participation.

Personal

His artist name Max Stiegl comes from his first chef, who called him Max, supplemented by his favorite beer brand from the Stiegl brewery in Salzburg . He is married and has three children.
