Max Tonetto (born November 18, 1974 in Trieste ) is an Italian football player .

In 1990 Max Tonetto played in Serie D for the SS San Giovanni Trieste from his hometown Trieste. A year later he moved to AC Reggiana . He hoped for a breakthrough there, but was not used.

Tonetto made his Serie A debut with Reggiana on September 15, 1996 . For the 1999/2000 season he moved to AC Milan , but did not play a match for the entire season. After playing at FC Bologna , US Lecce and Sampdoria Genoa , the midfielder joined AS Roma , where he signed a contract until 2009. Here he fought for a regular place as a left full-back. After the 2009/10 season, his contract was not renewed. Since then he has been without a club.

For the international match on March 28, 2007 against Scotland , Max Tonetto was called up for the national team for the first time , but injured himself shortly before the match. He finally made his debut on June 2, 2007 against the Faroe Islands .
