Max von Detten

Max Alfred von Detten (born August 22, 1877 in Kleve ; † November 10, 1945 in Bad Kreuznach ) was a German winery owner and politician ( Economic Party , NSDAP ).

Life

After attending grammar school, Detten became a Selektaner officer in the Prussian Army and served as an adjutant for five years. Since 1901 he owned a winery in Bad Kreuznach and also ran a wine wholesale business as a merchant. From 1912 was a member of the Koblenz Chamber of Commerce . He took part in the First World War as a pilot in the air force , most recently as captain and commander of a division.

Detten studied economics and social sciences at the University of Frankfurt in the 1920s . During the occupation of the Rhineland , he was expelled twice, initially for one year, and later for another two years. Then he was first chairman of the Reich Association of Expelled and Displaced People from the Rhine and Ruhr. He was also a member of the Cologne Finance Court .

Detten was a member of the district council of the Bad Kreuznach district , a member of the provincial parliament of the Rhine Province and from 1925 to 1928 a member of the Prussian State Council . In May 1928 he was elected to the Prussian state parliament for the Reich Party of the German Middle Classes (Economic Party). He resigned from the party and had been a non-attached MP since June 12, 1931. On August 1, 1931, he joined the radical middle class, but left it too, and from December 19, 1931, he again did not belong to any parliamentary group. On April 12, 1932, he joined the NSDAP. At the end of the legislative period, he left parliament. He was a representative of constituency 21 (Koblenz-Trier).
