Max von Siegl

Max von Siegl (born October 13, 1856 in Vienna ; † November 20, 1949 in Bludenz ) was an Austrian railway technician.

Life

Max von Siegl was the son of the military doctor Johann Siegl (1807-1887), who was knighted in 1867. He studied at the Vienna Polytechnic from 1874 to 1878 and from 1880 worked for the State Railways Directorate. There he was involved in routing the route and in preparatory work for the installation of the railway over the Arlberg and the construction of the Arlberg tunnel . From 1882 he worked in the design office in Bludenz for project planning and was involved in the construction of the west ramp in 1883. In 1884 Siegl was appointed to the Bludenz railway maintenance section at the General Directorate of the Austrian State Railways , which for the first time had to operate a mountain line with topographically, geologically and climatically extreme conditions on its own.

In 1893 he was an engineer adjunct in the Bludenz railway maintenance section from January 1, 1886 with service class IX. employed. In 1898 he was appointed chief engineer and in 1910 chief inspector. In 1919 he retired. In 1903 Siegl was elected to the Bludenz municipal council.
