Max zu Hohenlohe-Oehringen

Max Anton Karl Prince zu Hohenlohe-Oehringen (born March 2, 1860 in Slawentzitz , Cosel district , province of Silesia , † January 14, 1922 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Max zu Hohenlohe-Oehringen was the son of Prince Hugo zu Hohenlohe-Oehringen and his wife Pauline, née Princess von Fürstenberg (1829–1900). He studied at the University of Goettingen law . In 1882 he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Göttingen . After he had passed the legal traineeship in 1883 , he started an officer career in January 1884 in the regiment of the Gardes du Corps . In 1910 he was Rittmeister in the 2nd Guard Uhlan Regiment in Berlin. A little later he was appointed as major of the staff of this regiment à la suite . With the outbreak of the First World War he became active again as a lieutenant colonel . He was in command of the Reserve Uhlan Regiment No. 1 and the Reserve Dragoon Regiment No. 8. As a major general, he retired from the service.

As a representative of his brother Christian Kraft zu Hohenlohe-Öhringen , he was a member of the First Chamber of the Württemberg state parliament from 1906 to 1918 . In 1896 Max zu Hohenlohe-Oehringen was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Frederick .
