Maxim Michailowitsch Michailowski ( Russian Максим Михайлович Михайловский ; born July 24, 1969 in Moscow , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey goalkeeper .

Career

Maxim Michailowski began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown with HK CSKA Moscow , for whose professional team he was active from 1988 to 1993 in the Vysschaya League , the highest Soviet league, and its successor International Hockey League . From 1993 to 1995 the goalkeeper stood between the posts for the Detroit Falcons from the Colonial Hockey League . In the 1994/95 season he was voted the best goalkeeper in the league. At the same time, he also played five games for the Adirondack Red Wings from the American Hockey League and one game for the Detroit Vipers from the International Hockey League .

For the 1995/96 season Mikhailovsky was obliged by his ex-club HK CSKA Moscow from the International Hockey League. In the 1997/98 season he went to HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk from the Russian Super League . He spent the following three years with their league rivals HK CSKA Moscow. The 1993 world champion played for the HK Lada Tolyatti from 2001 to 2003 . He then played for HK CSKA Moscow for a year. He started the 2004/05 season at Lada Tolyatti and finished it at Severstal Tscherepowez . In the 2005/06 season he played in the second-rate Vysschaya League for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod before ending his career at the age of 37.

International

For Russia , Mikhailovsky took part in the 1993 World Cup, where he won the gold medal with his team. He was also in Russia's squad at the 1996 and 1997 World Cups . Mikhailovsky had previously won the gold medal with the USSR at the 1989 World Junior Championship .
