Maxim Petrovich Dmitriev
Maxim Petrovich Dmitrijew ( Russian Максим Петрович Дмитриев , scientific transliteration Maksim Petrovič Dmitriev ; born August 21, 1858 in the village Powalischino, Kirsanow district , Tambov governorate ; † October 15, 1948 in Nizhny Novgorod. ) Was a Russian photographer .
Live and act
Maxim Dmitriev, the son of a landowner, moved to Nizhny Novgorod in 1877 and worked there in Andrei Karelin's studio. After he had acquired all the techniques and finesse of his master, he opened his own studio in Nizhny Novgorod in 1887.
In 1892, his photos on the subject of “Prisoners working on the construction site” in Paris impressed the international public.
In 1893 Maxim Dmitrijew went to the Russian typhus epidemic areas with his camera .
Maxim Dmitrijew photographed along the native Volga on the subject of “Man and Landscape”. Exhibitions made him known in Paris, Amsterdam , Chicago and New York .
Maxim Dmitriev was a member of the Russian Photographic Society, which was founded in 1894 and liquidated in 1930.
