Maxime Dufour-Lapointe (born February 9, 1989 in Montreal ) is a Canadian freestyle skier . She specializes in the mogul slope disciplines moguls and dual moguls. Her sisters Chloé and Justine practice the same sport.
biography
From February 2004 Dufour-Lapointe took part in mogul competitions in the Nor-Am Cup, the North American continental championship. Two years later, she achieved her first podium at this level. Her best result at the Junior World Championships is a sixth place in 2007. She made her debut in the World Cup on February 24, 2007 with 20th place in the Moguls competition in Apex . In March 2008 she achieved top 10 placements in the World Cup for the first time. At the 2009 World Championships in Inawashiro , she finished 18th in the dual moguls competition. Due to mediocre performance in the 2009/10 World Cup season, she could not qualify for the 2010 Winter Olympics, but was used as a forerunner.
In the following years Dufour-Lapointe established himself in the upper midfield with regular top 10 results. On January 11, 2014, she achieved the first World Cup podium when she was third in the Deer Valley Moguls competition . At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she finished twelfth in her sisters' double victory. Towards the end of the 2013/14 World Cup season , she achieved two more third places in Inawashiro and La Plagne . In the following season 2014/15 she got four top 10 placements, while she just missed a medal at the 2015 World Championships at Kreischberg with fourth place in the Moguls competition.
At the start of the 2015/16 World Cup season , Dufour-Lapointe again achieved third place in Val Saint-Côme . In the further course of this winter she was never classified worse than in seventh place. The best result in the 2016/17 World Cup season was a fifth place, at the 2017 World Championships in the Sierra Nevada , she finished 16th in the Mughal competition.
