Maximilian did not have it easy due to the early death of his father Philipp , but he and his mother found support from his uncle, Anton (1771–1843), canon and capitular lord of Olomouc as well as infuled rector at St. Anna, also infuled abbot with Our Lady of Poroszló in Hungary. The latter also made it possible for him to get a proper education and study. His uncle Josef (1777–1841), being single and childless, finally bequeathed the rule of Leitersdorf with castle and oil huts to him in 1840 , and in that year the Hungarian indigenous group was confirmed for Maximilian Anton.

After studying economics and law in Vienna, Rolsberg became involved in many societies and associations, particularly in the agricultural sector. Among other things, he played a decisive role in the establishment of the farmers' cooperative for the production of sugar beet and the construction of the sugar refinery in Wawrowitz (Vávrovice) , of which he was chairman (1869), and he also made an important contribution to the establishment of the agricultural joint-stock company. He was also a member of the committee of the Austro-Hungarian Agricultural Society.

He was also appointed honorary secretary in 1847. He was also archbishop's councilor and commentator on the papal Gregorian ordinances. He was decorated by the Pope with the Commander's Cross of the Order of Gregory .

The baron was elected a member of the Moravian Parliament in 1861 for the large estates . During the first meeting of the state parliament on February 18, 1867, he was appointed to the petitions committee. The last time he was delegated to the Moravian Parliament on October 20, 1871, was a member of the Reichsrat.

As the "New Foreigners Leaf" reported in Maximilian's death note, he had died of the leaves. The newspaper also praised his charity and suggested that the local charities and the commune had suffered irreplaceable losses.
