Maximilian Dorner

Maximilian Dorner (born August 21, 1973 in Munich ) is a German writer and dramaturge. In 2007 Dorner received the Bavarian Art Promotion Prize for his debut novel The First Summer .

Life

Dorner studied dramaturgy at the Bavarian Theater Academy and then worked as a director, literary editor and author. From 1996 to 1999 he was the author of the BR radio broadcast Lyrik nach Wunsch , from 1998 to 2001 Dorner wrote theater reviews for the newspaper Die Welt . In 2006 Dorner was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and since 2010 he has been dependent on a wheelchair. In 2008 he published the book My Demon is a Couch Potato about living with a disability. In the summer of 2009 Dorner staged the opera Der Liebestrank by Gaetano Donizetti in the Pasinger factory in Munich. In 2019 he founded the campaign alliance Wheelchairs for future .
