Maximilian Heidenreich (born May 9, 1967 in Hanover ) is a former German soccer player and today's soccer coach.

Career as a player

Hannover 96

When the then second division Hannover 96 faced financial problems before the 1984/85 season , coach Werner Biskup filled the squad with young talent. Heidenreich was also brought out of the A-youth of Hannover 96 at the age of seventeen. In his first year as a professional he played his way into the core squad of the 96ers and helped his club to rise to the Bundesliga through constant performance . The Bayern Munich announced interest in the young playmaker on, the experts certified great talent. There was no change. In the Bundesliga season 1985/86 , the Hanoverians relegated back to the 2nd division, Heidenreich was still part of the permanent staff.

1860 Munich, Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Basel

In the 1987/88 season Heidenreich played for TSV 1860 Munich in the Bayern League . In 1988 he moved to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, but could not prevail there. In 1990, after another year in Hanover, he moved to FC Basel for two years .

Sc freiburg

Between 1992 and 1997 Heidenreich played for SC Freiburg under coach Volker Finke . With the sports club, he rose to the 1st Bundesliga in 1993 and took third place there in 1995, with which the team was able to qualify for the UEFA Cup . Under Finke, Heidenreich was mainly used in defense in a three-man chain . The breakthrough to the national player, which his Freiburg club colleagues Jens Todt and Jörg Heinrich achieved at the time, was denied him.

In 1997 he moved to VfL Wolfsburg and played 10 games in the Bundesliga before ending his professional career at SG Wattenscheid in the 1998/99 season .

Career as a coach

From the beginning of 2001 until shortly before the end of the 2007/08 season, Heidenreich coached the Freiburg FC , which played under his direction continuously in the Association League South Baden . In the summer of 2009 Heidenreich signed as a coach at SV Weil , which also belonged to the Association League South Baden. He also trained the C and D juniors from Blau-Weiss Wiehre . For the 2011/12 season he moved to the league competitor FC Denzlingen , where he was released after almost three league seasons at the end of March 2014. In spring 2015 Heidenreich took over SV Weil again, which currently plays in the regional league. He was released from his duties in mid-March 2017 after the club's goal of promotion to the association league was missed.
