Maximilian Heinrich Droste zu Vischering
Maximilian Heinrich Droste zu Vischering (* March 24, 1749 ; † July 16, 1801 in Dülmen ) was canon in Münster .
Life
Origin and family
Maximilian Heinrich Droste zu Vischering came from the Westphalian noble family Droste zu Vischering , one of the oldest and most important families in the Münsterland , from which numerous well-known personalities emerged. He was the son of Adolf Heidenreich Droste zu Vischering and his wife Antoinette Maria Johanna von Ascheberg zu Botzlar, daughter of Reinhard Hugo von Ascheberg zu Botzlar (1660-1728) and Katharina Theodora von Büren zu Mengede (1680-1729). Maximilian's father was the builder of the Erbdrostenhof in Münster. His brother Clemens August Maria Droste zu Vischering succeeded his father as Drost . His sons were Clemens August (1773-1845, Archbishop of Cologne), Kaspar Maximilian (1770-1846, Bishop of Munster) and Franz Otto (1771-1826, Canon in Munster).
Career and work
Christoph Heinrich came into the possession of a cathedral priest in Münster in 1772 through the renunciation of the canon Ferdinand Joseph von Plettenberg . In contrast to the members of his family, who supported Franz Wilhelm von Fürstenberg , Maximilian Heinrich was one of his opponents. He was the owner of the Obedience Hiddingsel and the Oblegium Holthusen major . As a sub-deacon he was dependent on a dispensation from the Pope to enter into a marriage. When this was granted, he gave up his offices, sold his obedience for 650 Reichstaler and renounced his benefice in Munster in favor of his nephew Kaspar Maximilian. On September 24, 1790, he married the Nottulner Canon Amalia Sophia von Vincke.
