Maximilian Schäffler (born March 30, 1992 in Kaufbeuren ) is a German ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with ESV Kaufbeuren in the DEL2 .

Career

Maximilian Schäffler began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the ESV Kaufbeuren , for which he was active in the school league, youth league, junior league and the German youth league. In the 2008/09 season , the winger made his debut for the senior team of ESV Kaufbeuren, with whom he rose to the 2nd ice hockey Bundesliga as a champion of the third-class Oberliga Süd . In the 2nd Bundesliga he was then able to gain experience in professional hockey for three years as a regular player in Kaufbeuren.

For the 2012/13 season Schäffler was signed by the Augsburg Panthers from the German Ice Hockey League . At the same time as playing in the DEL, he was used with a sponsorship license for the upper division EHC Klostersee .

From August 2015, Schäffler was under contract again in Kaufbeuren, after he had not been able to prevail in the DEL. After 388 competitive appearances in the DEL2 for the ESVK, Max Schäffler was not made a new contract offer for the 2019/2020 season.

For Germany , Schäffler took part in the U18 Junior World Championship of Division I in 2010 .
