Mazamni is a rural community in Damagaram Takaya department in Niger .

geography

Mazamni is located in the Sahel region . The neighboring communities are Damagaram Takaya in the north, east and west and Gaffati , Guidimouni and Zermou in the south. The municipality is divided into ten administrative villages, 15 traditional villages and three hamlets. The main town of the rural community is Mazamni.

history

The French colonial administration established a canton in Mazamni at the beginning of the 20th century . The local market was one of the small markets in the region that was approved by the French administration at the time. The Mazamni canton was dissolved in 1932 and joined the Goudimouni canton. In 2002, as part of a nationwide administrative reform, the territory of the canton of Guidimouni was divided into the newly created rural communities of Goudimouni and Mazamni. Since 2011, both rural communities no longer belong to the Mirriah department , but to the newly founded Damagaram Takaya department.

At the 2001 census, Mazamni had 6,414 inhabitants. For the year 2010 8709 inhabitants were calculated.
