Mbenza Bedi (born September 11, 1984 in Milange , Zaire ) is a former Congolese football player .

Club career

He began his professional career in the Congo with AC Dynamique from Kindu , before moving to the capital city club Bel'Or Kinshasa in 2006 . In January 2007 Mbenza Bedi signed a contract with reigning champions TP Mazembe , with whom he was able to win the Linafoot championship (Ligue nationale de football) again in 2007 and 2009 .

He also won the African Champions League with TP Mazembe in 2009 and 2010 . The club thus qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup . After the preliminary round from 2009 Mbenza Bedi reached the final with TP Mazembe at the Club World Cup 2010 after victories over CF Pachuca and SC Internacional Porto Alegre . Bedi is only the second player in the history of the Club World Cup after Dwight Yorke to score a goal at two different Club World Cups. In 2011 he moved to Belgium for RSC Anderlecht , where he was unable to assert himself in the following two years.

On January 14, 2013, Mbenza Bedi signed a contract with Club Africain . The contract expires in the 2015/16 season, until then Bedi is expected to play for the twelve-time champions in the capital of Tunisia. But in April 2014 he switched back to TP Mazembe . In the first half of the 2015 season he played in Angola for Kabuscorp FC do Palanca and in the summer he went to FC Renaissance du Congo .

In 2017 he played another season for TP Mazembe and then moved to league rivals JS Groupe Bazano .

National team

In 2009, Mbenza Bedi was appointed to the senior national team of the Congo for the first time by national coach Patrice Neveu and took part with the team in the African Nations Championships . Only players who are still playing in the national championships of their home countries are eligible to play in the tournament. At the 2009 Nations Cup in Ivory Coast , the offensive player with the Congolese team won the final against Ghana on March 8th, with Mbenza Bedi scoring the 2-0 goal. In qualifying for the African Cup of Nations 2010 in Angola , the national team failed in the preliminary round.
