McLennan Reservation is a 594  acres (2.4  km² ) large nature reserve in the urban areas of Otis and Tyringham in the state of Massachusetts of the United States , which by the organization The Trustees of Reservations is managed.

Protected area

The sanctuary, named after its founder John S. McLennan, consists mainly of forested mountain slopes and wetlands at the southern end of the Tyringham Valley . It is bordered by Round Mountain and Long Mountain, which are up to 1,500  ft (457.2  m ) high . In the saddle of the lake lies Hale Pond , which only occurs when beavers to Camp Brook by building a dam dam.

From the entrance, 1.5  mi (2.4  km ) of partially challenging hiking trails lead through the reserve. At its southern end, it borders Ashintully Gardens .
