Goose Pond Reservation is a 112 acres (45.3 hectare ) nature reserve near the city of Lee in the state of Massachusetts in the United States , administered by The Trustees of Reservations .
Protected area
The area is characterized by a 0.25 mi (0.4 km ) long rocky coast, which rises almost 300 ft (91.4 m ) along the reservoir of the same name and thus a maximum absolute height of 1,753 ft (534.3 m) above reached the sea level. The mountain lake and the surrounding forests directly border areas administered by the National Park Service and are traversed by the Appalachian Trail . As there are no established or designated hiking trails, getting around in the protected area is sometimes difficult.
The grounds of today's protected area were given to the trustees in 1986.
