The mechanic for bodywork maintenance technology has been a state-recognized training occupation in Germany since 2003 according to the craft regulations .

The professions of automotive mechatronics technician and mechanic for bodywork maintenance technology have been merged. Body technology is now one of the possible priorities of the automotive mechatronics engineer .

Duration of training and structure

The training period to become a mechanic for bodywork maintenance technology is usually three and a half years. The training takes place at the training company and vocational school .

History of origin

The training regulations from 2003 provided for a traditional intermediate examination as well as a conventional journeyman's examination , in which the acceptance of the extended journeyman's examination was examined by means of a test regulation .
