Mechthild Ross-Luttmann (born April 13, 1958 in Burgsteinfurt ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and former member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

Education and work experience

After graduating from high school in Beckum , Ross-Luttmann studied law in Münster (first state examination), and did a traineeship in the higher regional court district of Hamm (second state examination in autumn 1986).

From April 1, 1987 to March 3, 2003 she was head of department in the Rotenburg (Wümme) district , interrupted by parental leave from 1992 to 1998.

Political career

In the state elections in 2003 , 2008 and 2013 , Mechthild Ross-Luttmann was elected to the state parliament for the Rotenburg constituency. From March to December 2005 she was the social policy spokesperson for the CDU parliamentary group, from February 2013 to 2015 she was deputy chairwoman of the CDU parliamentary group.

On December 7, 2005, she was the successor to the Cabinet of Berlin Angela Merkel impersonated Ursula von der Leyen for the Lower Saxony Minister for Social Affairs, Women, Family and Health appointed. On April 27, 2010 Ross-Luttmann resigned her office to Aygül Özkan and left the government in the course of a cabinet reshuffle .

Mechthild Ross-Luttmann did not run again in the 2017 state election .

Private

Ross-Luttmann is with the lawyers and district of Rotenburg , married, Hermann Luttmann and has three children.

Mechthild Ross-Luttmann achieved national recognition through her statement with regard to data retention : "It is not about becoming a surveillance state, but simply about storing who phoned whom, when and where" on September 14, 2011 during the 113th plenary session of the Lower Saxony state parliament.
