Medhi Gregory Giuseppe Lacen ( Arabic مدحي لحسن, DMG Maḥdī Laḥsan ; * March 15, 1984 in Paris ) is an Algerian football player born in France .

Career

society

Medhi Lacen was born in France , his father is Algerian and his mother is from Italy . He began his career in the youth of FC Versailles , then he played for Stade Laval . There he made his debut in the first team in 2003. However, he moved to ASOA Valence a year later . There he was able to fight for a regular place, but even there he only played for one year. In 2005 he switched to Deportivo Alavés . He made his debut on October 15, 2005 in a 1-1 draw against Villarreal . After three years with the Basques , he moved to Racing Santander on August 15, 2008 , where he signed a three-year contract. He then played seven seasons for Getafe FC . He then spent the 2018/19 season at FC Málaga and has been without a club since then.

National team

Since his father is Algerian , he also had the opportunity to play for the Algerian national football team . In 2006 he was nominated by coach Jean-Michel Cavalli for the friendly against Gabon , but where he was not used.

On December 12, 2009, the President of the Algerian Football Association announced that Lacen would be in the squad for the 2010 African Cup in Angola . But just five days later, head coach Rabah Saâdane announced that Lacen would not participate in the competition because of his wife's pregnancy.

He finally made his international debut on March 3, 2010 in a 3-0 defeat in a friendly against Serbia .
