More than I can is an Austrian documentary film from 2011 on the experiences of family caregivers in private home care .
action
The day-to-day care of relatives, mostly with parents, partners and children, is usually overwhelming and takes place in secret. The relatives speak for themselves in interviews. They show their borderline experience with helplessness, their grief and anger, and also the intergenerational redefinition of human values that went along with it.
structure
The film was made with the support of the Austrian Committee for Social Work (ÖKSA) and the Federal Ministry for Education, Art and Culture and in cooperation with the interest group of caring relatives . It can be divided into three chapters Why Us? What can I still live there? You are the strong one. of 15 minutes each and an additional film What else is there to say ... of 13 minutes to be used in the school area. A media booklet for DVD 12496, created by Christian Eder and Philipp Klutz, provides suggestions for using the film in school lessons.
