Prussian quarter milestone in Berga

The milestone in Berga is a small memorial in the community of Goldene Aue in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz in Saxony-Anhalt .

Between Emseloh and Berga no milestone has been preserved on a stretch of almost 30 kilometers . To the west of Berga and east of Emseloh, however, almost all of them have been preserved. The stone on the former Prussian state road from Berlin to Kassel is located in Berga on Sangerhäuser Strasse (today Bundesstrasse 85 and Landesstrasse 151 , formerly Bundesstrasse 80 ) east of the level crossing on the southern side of the street. It belongs to the Langenbogen - Nordhausen section , which was built between 1824 and 1826.

The distance stone bears the inscription 1/4 mile in a recessed oval . It was restored in 2003 and received an explanation board from the Milestones Research Group . The quarter milestone cannot be found in the monument register. Like all milestones in Saxony-Anhalt, however, it is a listed building .
