The milestone in Görzig is a listed small monument in the city of Southern Anhalt in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt . It bears the registration number 094 06137 in the monument register .

The inscription on the 96 centimeter high Anhalt milestone in Görzig reads I mile from Cöthen IV miles from Dessau . This makes it one of the junctions that led from the most important east-west connection of Anhalt, which connected Dessau with the Harz Mountains , from Köthen to the south and south-west. Round base stones are the typical shape of the Anhalt milestones, but can also be found in Prussian stones. Since the two states were closely intertwined, Prussia influenced the construction of the highway in Anhalt in many ways. The Anhalt mile was just as long as the Prussian mile, namely 7.532 kilometers.

The distance indicator is on the former border with Reinsdorf, which was incorporated into Görzig as early as 1950. Inscriptions with the same content can also be found on the milestones in Kleinpaschleben , Piethen , Dohndorf and Gröbzig . So there are five stones south and west of Koethen, which show the distance to Dessau with four miles and that to Koethen with one mile. This preserved milestone system shows the old road network from the middle of the 19th century in the Köthener Land only through its inscriptions. Unfortunately, no three-mile stone has survived, there was no five-mile stone south of Görzig, as Anhalt already ended there. The milestone that stood on the Wieskau Bridge until the 1990s already belonged to Prussia.
