Abraham Kipchirchir Rotich (born June 26, 1993 ) is a Bahraini middle-distance runner of Kenyan origin who has been eligible to compete in Bahrain since 2013.

Athletic career

Abraham Rotich gained his first international experience at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon , South Korea , where he originally won the bronze medal, but was later disqualified for violating a lane marker. The following year he was seventh at the Arab Championships in Manama and qualified for the World Championships in Beijing , where he was eliminated with 1: 48.61 min in the semifinals . In 2016 he qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where he was disqualified in the preliminary stages. In 2017 he finished eighth in 1: 47.46 minutes at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku . In 2018 he again took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta , where he finished fifth in 1: 47.05 min. In 2019 he finished seventh over 800 meters at the Arab Championships in Cairo and won the bronze medal over 1500 meters in 3: 44.34 minutes. Two weeks later he won the Asian Championships in Doha over 1500 meters in 3: 42.85 minutes and was eliminated over 800 meters with 1: 53.07 minutes in the semifinals. He received a bye for the World Championships , which also took place in Doha, and was eliminated there with 3: 45.19 minutes in the lead-up . Then he won the bronze medal over 800 meters behind the Poles Michał Rozmys and Cornelius Tuwei from Kenya at the Military World Games in Wuhan in 1: 49.36 minutes .
