Cornelius Kipkoech Tuwei (born May 24, 1993 in Nandi County ) is a Kenyan middle-distance runner who specializes in the 800-meter run .

Athletic career

Cornelius Tuwei gained his first experience in international championships in 2018 at the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , where he was eliminated in the 800-meter run with 1: 47.10 min in the first round. The following year he took part in the Africa Games in Rabat for the first time and won the silver medal there in 1: 45.41 minutes behind the Tunisian Abdessalem Ayouni . Then he also won the silver medal at the Military World Games in Wuhan in 1: 49.20 minutes, this time he had to admit defeat to the Pole Michał Rozmys .
