Takashi Ishii (athlete)
Takashi Ishii ( Japanese 石井 隆士 , Ishii Takashi; born August 27, 1954 ) is a former Japanese middle-distance runner .
At the Asian Athletics Championships in 1975 he won over 1500 m and won bronze over 800 m .
In 1977 he was fifth in the World Cup in Athletics in Düsseldorf over 1500 m with the Asian record of 3: 38.24 min. At the Pacific Conference Games he won gold over 1500 m and bronze over 800 m.
He also won gold over 1500 m and bronze over 800 m at the Asian Games in Bangkok in 1978 .
He won silver over 1500 m at the Asian Championships in 1979. In 1981 he won over this distance at the Asian Championships and was ninth at the World Cup in Athletics in Rome .
He was five times the Japanese champion over 800 m (1974-1978) and four times over 1500 m (1976, 1977, 1979, 1980).
