All-mile obelisk in Emseloh

The milestone of Emseloh is a Prussian whole milestone in the city of Allstedt in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz in Saxony-Anhalt .

Emseloh is located on the historic connection from Halle (Saale) to Nordhausen and thus also on the Chaussee from Berlin to Kassel , the section of which was built here between 1824 and 1826. The Prussian all-mile obelisk is today on the south side of Eisleber Strasse ( L 151 ) at the park entrance opposite the mansion of the village and indicates the distance to Berlin as 28 miles . That corresponds to almost 211 kilometers. In addition, the information on the distance stone is “Sangerhausen 1 1/8 mile” (8.5 km) and “Eisleben 1 1/2 mile” (11.3 km).

Until 2002, the milestone between Emseloh and Riestedt was on the north side of the street at the traffic lights. Here it was partially buried, neither the benches nor the base were available. However, that was not its historical location either, it was moved there before 1970. At both locations it is far too close to the previous quarter milestone east of Emseloh. In 1985 he got his Prussian eagle plate again. During the implementation, the stone, which consists of red Kyffhäuser sandstone, was renovated and the missing parts were reproduced from concrete. In addition, the milestones received an explanation board from the Milestones research group, which lists the most important dates.

Today's overall level of under monument protection standing milestone is 3.8 meters. In the monument register it is entered as a small monument with registration number 094 80308 . Next to it is a rather inconspicuous kilometer stone that bears the number 4 on the side of the road and the 5 on the west and east side.
