Meinrad Henggeler

Meinrad Henggeler (born July 22, 1792 in Unterägeri ; † December 16, 1869 there , Catholic , entitled to live in Unterägeri) was a Swiss entrepreneur and liberal politician .

biography

Meinrad Henggeler was born on July 22nd, 1792 in Unterägeri as the son of Meinrad Henggeler senior. Henggeler, a wealthy landlord, farmer, cattle dealer and manufacturer, founded the spinning mill in 1846 together with his cousin Wolfgang and the Zurich manufacturer Heinrich Schmid an der Lorze , which formed the core of Neuägeris , a new district of Unterägeri. Henggeler took over the management of the new company, which merged with the Unterägeri spinning mill in 1859 before handing it over to his son Klemens.

Meinrad Henggeler, who was married three times, died on December 16, 1869, four months after he had turned 77 in Unterägeri. He was a cousin of the entrepreneur Alois Henggeler .

Political career

Meinrad Henggeler initially represented the Liberal parliamentary group in the Cantonal Council between 1822 and 1837 . Later he was a member of the Constitutional Council from 1847 to 1848 , and then from 1848 to 1851 of the Zug Government Council and Grand Council.
