Meinrad von Buol (born October 30, 1588 in Davos ; † July 13, 1658 in In den Bruchten, (Davos-Platz)), was a Swiss nobleman, Buol (noble family) .

Meinrad was the third child of Salomon von Buol (1481-1567) married judge and treasurer to Davos, Landammann , federal Landammann, magistrate and Lieutenant Colonel in the French services, 1607 ennobled by Henry IV. King of France and Verena Andres. He was married three times; first marriage in 1608 with Elisabeth Bavier, Td Johann Bavier ud Euphrosina Sprecher, † 1618; in second marriage with Barbara Sprecher von Bernegg , Td Andreas Sprecher von Bernegg ud Dorothea Müller, born April 16, 1601, † June 22, 1637 in Davos and in third marriage 1638 with Anna Kuon von Rheinegg.

Career

Meinrad Buol was initially a signatory in Davos. From 1607 to 1609 Podestà was in Bormio and from 1613 to 1615 in Teglio . In 1617 he was appointed marriage judge in Davos. 1629–1643 Landammann of Davos and as such at the same time federal Landammann of the Ten Courts Federation. In 1642 his re-election led to a dispute with the other courts of the Ten Courts Federation, which was ended in 1644 with the so-called "Waser'schen Spruch". In 1647/48 and 1655/56 again Bundslandammann. 1643 Governor of the Valtellina. 1651 president of the syndicature (supervisory commission over Veltliner administration), 1629–1642 Salomon Buol was repeatedly envoy of the three leagues. He was a leader in the Venetian-French party, later a supporter of a compromise with Spain and Austria .
