Mel Judah (born October 8, 1947 in Calcutta , India ) is a professional Australian poker player who lives in London . He is nicknamed The Silver Fox and two-time bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker .

Personal

At the age of 14, Judah watched his father play the variant of Five Card Draw and thus learned to play poker. Prior to his poker career, Judah worked as a hairdresser and says it would help him understand the psychology of other poker players.

Poker career

Career

At the beginning of his career he secured a bracelet at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas when he won a tournament in Seven Card Stud in 1989 . At the 1997 WSOP , he secured his second bracelet in the same variant . That year he also reached the final table of the WSOP Main Event , finishing in around 370,000 US dollars for third place. At the beginning of September 2003 the main event of the World Poker Tour in Los Angeles won and secured around 580,000 US dollars. At the 2006 Poker Million , he made the final table and finished fourth. Judah was President of the independent poker tour European Poker Masters , produced by the Poker Channel . The tour only took place in 2006 and had stops in London, Vienna , Paris and Dublin . At the 2013 WSOP , Judah finished runner-up in a Pot Limit Omaha Hi / Lo event for over $ 170,000.

Overall, Judah has earned over $ 3.5 million in poker playing live tournaments.
