Meldrum is a multinational hard rock band formed in 1999 by Michelle Meldrum .

Band history

Michelle Meldrum moved to its exit at Phantom Blue to Sweden and married John Norum . In 1999 she founded the band Meldrum, named after her, together with Moa Holmsten (vocals), Frida Ståhl (bass) and Hasse Sjölander (drums). However, Sjölander got out again in 1999 and was replaced by Frederik Haake. The first album Loaded Metal Cannon was recorded in 2000, but was not released until 2001 due to problems with the record company. Brian Robertson , Marcel Jacob and Meldrum's husband John Norum are guests on the album.

In 2005, Meldrum toured extensively through Europe and the USA, including supporting the Black Label Society and Motörhead . Until 2007 further tours with Sepultura , Danzig and Nashville Pussy took place. The second album Blowin 'Up the Machine was released in 2007 with prominent guests. This time Gene Hoglan , whom Michelle Meldrum knew from her first band Wargod , Linda McDonald (ex-Phantom Blue) and Lemmy Kilmister were represented on the album. Hoglan decided to join the band, furthermore Michele Madden of the Tourettes were hired as singer and Laura Christine (from Warface) as bassist.

In January 2008, work began on the next album. On May 21, 2008, Michelle Meldrum had to be taken to hospital, where she died that same day. The future of the band is uncertain since the sudden death of the namesake, but attempts are still being made to complete and release the album.
