Melissa Ann Jeltema (born May 20, 1988 in Grand Rapids, Michigan ) is an American basketball player . The 1.75 m tall basketball player plays in the position of point guard .

Life

She attended Grand Rapids Christian High School until 2006 and studied wellness, health promotion and injury prevention at Oakland University until 2010 .

Until 2006 she played on the team at Grand Rapids Christian High School. From 2006 to 2010 she studied at Oakland University, where she played with the Golden Grizzlies.

Professional career

In 2010 Melissa Jeltema started her professional career in Chemnitz with the German first division club ChemCats Chemnitz . For the 2012/2013 season she moved to the Finnish first division club Honka Espoo . From there she moved back to Germany and signed a contract with the series champion TSV 1880 Wasserburg . She won the double with Wasserburg, but moved to Nördlingen to join the Bavarian league competitor BG Donau-Ries in 2014 . Shortly after she had extended her contract there for the 2015/2016 season, she asked for personal reasons to terminate her contract and moved to the second division Turn-Klubb in Hanover .
