Melissa Suzanne Henderson (born August 23, 1989 in Garland , Texas ) is a former American soccer player .
Career
society
In early 2012, she was in the first round of the WPS - Drafts at position two from the Sky Blue FC obliged to complete league but was dissolved before the start of the season. Therefore, Henderson moved to the Boston Breakers , for which she ran four times in the WPSL Elite in the 2012 season. In early 2013 she was signed as a so-called free agent by FC Kansas City from the newly founded National Women's Soccer League and made her debut there on April 26, 2013 against Seattle Reign FC . On July 9, 2014, Henderson moved to league rivals Houston Dash , from where she moved on to Danish leaders Fortuna Hjørring in September on loan until the end of the year . After the end of the 2015 season, she first announced her retirement before returning to the Dash in February 2016. In June 2017, Henderson finally ended her career after only a brief assignment during the season.
National team
Henderson played for the US U-17, U-20 and U-23 national teams between 2006 and 2010. In December 2011, she participated in a training camp for the US national team in preparation for the 2012 Summer Olympics.
