The Mellensee is a lake near Lychen in the northeast of Brandenburg .

The Mellensee belongs to the Uckermark lake landscape . Together with Wurlsee , Großer Lychensee , Platkowsee , Stadtsee , Nesselpfuhl and Zenssee , it forms the Lychener Seenkreuz, which encompasses the inner area of the city of Lychen almost like an island. It is located immediately south of the Great Lychensee, with which it is connected via a narrow watercourse. The smaller Brennickenwerder settlement is located here. The lake is about 500 meters long and about 300 meters wide. It is located between the Himmelpforter Heide and the Lychen municipal forest .
Sea data
The rather shallow lake is 15.38 hectares and a maximum of 6 m deep. The lake and part of its largely wooded surroundings form the Mellensee nature reserve near Lychen .

The main species of fish are tench and pike.
