The Zenssee is a lake belonging to the urban area of Lychen . It is located in the northeast of Brandenburg in the Uckermärkische See nature reserve. The water arose from dead ice blocks from the early Ice Age.

The Zenssee is part of the Uckermark lake landscape . Together with Wurlsee , Großer Lychensee , Platkowsee , Stadtsee and Nesselpfuhl , it forms the Lychener Seenkreuz , which encompasses the inner area of ​​Lychen almost like an island. It connects the Oberpfuhl and the Platkowsee to the southeast.

The lake is 111.67 hectares and a maximum of 29 meters deep. The lake is elongated from northwest to southeast. It is about three kilometers long and sometimes a little over four hundred meters wide. The bank zone is determined by a reed belt. The catchment area of ​​the lake has an area of ​​35.85 km², it is free from direct development. The Zenssee is a registered fishing water (number V 06-03) and is operated by the Kreisanglerverband Templin e. V. manages.

The main fish species are carp, tench , bream, pike, pikeperch, perch, eel, catfish and various white fish species. A population of ospreys should be emphasized .

The rather steep riverside zones are predominantly overgrown with mixed forest.
