Meltem Kaptan (* 8. July 1980 in Gütersloh ) is a German - Turkish host , comedienne , writer and actress .

biography

Kaptan grew up in Marienfeld and Harsewinkel . As a teenager she participated successfully in numerous state time Competitions in part. During her studies in English , media studies and graphics / painting at the Philipps University of Marburg and at the Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Istanbul , she completed an acting and singing training in Istanbul and Washington . This was followed in 2002 by a stay abroad with admission to the National Society of Collegiate Scholars as well as acting and singing training at the Faculty of Theater and Performing Arts at Western Washington University .

Kaptan was accepted into the Summer Stock Company in Washington (musical and theater productions) and from 2003 played in musicals such as u. a. West Side Story , Boy Meets Girl, Comedy of Errors, Musical Night and Sweeney Todd . In addition, she was responsible for the concept development and moderation of the program "News and Public Affairs" on KUGS-FM 89.3 ( Bellingham radio station , Washington). After further studies in Istanbul 2004/05 she played in various short films, a. a. in “Sınırdaki Ev” (director: Memduh Ün).

In 2004 she was a founding member of the English Theater in Marburg , where she also worked as a director. In addition, she conceived, wrote and spoke from 2007 radio comedy formats (including Radio Gaga , Ülcan Üktüell and Heidi Sucht). Here she worked for the broadcasters 1 Live , WDR Funkhaus Europa / Cosmo and KiRaKa . In 2008 she appeared on Nightwash Live with self-written stand-up comedy numbers as well as on “NightWash on Tour”, “ Quatsch Comedy Club ” and “1 Live Hörsaal-Comedy”.

From 2008 on television appeared in TV formats such as u. a. “ Ladies Night” , “Construction Site Germany” with Jürgen Becker (WDR), “ Bülent Ceylan Show ”, “Cindy and the Young Wilders” (RTL), “ Kölner Treff ”, the Beyaz Show and “ Genial besides - The Quiz ”.

Since 2012 Kaptan has also been working as a seminar actress in the field of communication for business and politics. In 2013 she developed a comedy figure for the Federal Chancellery , Bureaucracy Reduction Department, for the International Regulatory Reform Conference and moderated a. a. the 2015 integration conference in Mettmann .

In 2013 she took over her first TV moderation of the SAT.1 show “ Das große Backen ” together with Britt Hagedorn . In the same year she went on tour with her own comedy program "DesOrientiert". In 2017 she appeared as the leading actress in the Turkish action comedy "Ölumlü Dünya". In spring 2019 she presented the inventor show “ How awesome is that ?! ". In July 2019, Kaptan took over as one of three hosts to present the cabaret show Ladies Night .

Kaptan is married and lives in Cologne.
