The Menil Collection is the name of a museum in Houston (Texas, USA) that exhibits the private art collection of the founders John de Ménil and Dominique de Ménil .

The museum designed by Renzo Piano opened in June 1987. The collection includes 20th century art, including more than 15,000 paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, photographs and rare books. The artists include Yves Tanguy , René Magritte , Max Ernst , Man Ray , Marcel Duchamp , Henri Matisse , Pablo Picasso and Wols . Are also represented pop art and contemporary art of Jackson Pollock , Andy Warhol , Mark Rothko , Robert Rauschenberg and Cy Twombly . In addition, the museum's permanent exhibition shows Byzantine , medieval and primitive art.
