Menkare , also Men-ka-Re , is the throne name of an ancient Egyptian king ( Pharaoh ) of the 8th Dynasty ( First Intermediate Period ).

The sources of evidence on Menkare are very sparse. The list of kings in the Temple of Seti I of Abydos (No. 41) names him as the second king of the 8th dynasty. Further evidence are contemporary cylinder seals . One of these cylinder seals also names his successor at the same time, which Peter Kaplony interprets as a clue for a common reign (coregence), whereas Thomas Schneider considers this to be unlikely.
