Mercè Capdevila

Mercè Capdevila Gaya (born March 25, 1946 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish composer .

Life

After studying at the Conservatorio Municipal de Música de Barcelona, Mercè Capdevila deepened her education in the field of electronic music in the studio of the Fundación Phonos with Gabriel Brnčić and attended courses with Luigi Nono , Josep Mestres Quadreny and Luis de Pablo . She incorporates multimedia elements in her compositions . It combines acoustic and electroacoustic music as well as musique concrète with painting , light and video art . In 1993/1994 she was composer in residence at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, City University of New York .
