Sirka Schwartz-Uppendieck

Sirka Schwartz-Uppendieck (born May 25, 1965 in Hamburg ) is a German church musician , organist and pianist . She is the church music director in Fürth .

Life

Sirka Schwartz-Uppendieck began her pianistic training with Johanna Wiedenbach , her organ studies at the Hamburg University of Music with Heinz Wunderlich , the last representative of the Straube School. At the Musikhochschule Lübeck she continued her education with Eberhard Lauer (organ) and Conrad Hansen (piano). She attended master classes with Martin Behrmann , André Isoir , Günther Kaunzinger , Daniel Roth , Gerd Wachowski and Christiane Michel-Ostertun . She completed her studies with the concert exam and the A church music exam. Sirka Schwartz-Uppendieck has been cantor for the Evangelical Old Town Churches in Fürth ( Church of the Resurrection in the city park, St. Paul and St. Michael ) since 1997, and church music director since 2011 . In 2014 she received the special prize for culture from the city of Fürth .

Her work focuses on the classical organ repertoire as well as the areas of gospel and chanson, romantic piano music and contemporary music. Numerous works, from the organ toccata to the oratorio, were created at her suggestion and were premiered by her.

In 2000, Sirka Schwartz-Uppendieck founded the Fürth Female Composers ' Concerts , in which she presents music by women from all epochs of music history.
